MARKET ANALYZE & BUSINESS PARTNERS
As this activity concerns a very specific one, port services (
transfer of load and goods ), the analyses is brought only to the
analyses of the purchasing market as the sales market is uninteresting.
The business plan of the company "LUKA" SPLIT" is
based on the orientation of the services before the war and old
customers (specially the transit of good).
The most important domestic partner was "INA - Petrokemija",
Kutina with a yearly traffic of about 300,000 t of artificial fertilizers
through the port of Split. INA plans its export of 600,000 t artificial
fertilizers, and as such an amount of load can't be accepted by
any of our ports by itself (even the port of Rijeka, because of
its occupied capacities), and that is a chance for the port of Split
to takeover a part of the load.
"INA - Petrokemija" has now set an offer to the port
of Split for an export of 50,000 t of goods in bags (if the port
of SPLIT will prepare itself technically), and there is a agreement
with which this traffic could rise in 1997, and till the year 2000
it could reach the amount of traffic before the war.
A very important partner to this company is the economy of this
region, which is understandable, as it is the shortest and with
it the cheapest way of importing and exporting goods. (Steel factory
Split, Shipyard Brodo-Trogir, Shipyard Brodo-Split, "Adriachem"
and so on.)
Because of the 5 years of co-operation with the region of Bosnia
and Herzegovina as a natural backyard of this port (acceptance of
ships with humanitarian aid) it could be expected that this co-operation
will continue and as a partner in the future, specially for some
materials (such as building materials for the reconstruction of
B&H).
